COVID 19 Parent Information Spring 2020

Kindergarten Registration 5/18/2020

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, the Vermilion Parish School board has created an online registration system to accommodate all families who need to complete KINDERGARTEN registration. If your child was enrolled in Pre-K in a Vermilion Parish public school for the 2019-2020 school year, you do not need to register the child for Kindergarten.  All families who need to complete registration for KINDERGARTEN in any Vermilion Parish school should follow the link  for the Online Registration Systems (ORS). The system will open on Monday, May 18, 2020. Please be prepared to upload your child’s birth certificate, social security card/number, immunization record, and proof of residency information: electric bill and 2nd proof of residence.

Parent Survey

If you have just a few moments, please consider completing the following survey for us. We would love your feedback as we work hard to make our wonderful school even better, specifically in the areas of leadership, culture, and academics! Your voice is important to us!

Attention Parents of 4th and 5th Graders

Please support your child in completing this survey designed to help us improve our leadership environment. We would love to know their thoughts and give them a voice in the decision making process at our school!

Class Pictures

When reaching out to Lifetouch regarding class pictures, they informed us that there was an issue with the disk and no images were captured. We regret that this happened. Lifetouch will refund parents who paid for class pictures. Currently, no Lifetouch employee is allowed at work, but as soon as they they can get into their offices, they will provide detailed information on the photograph refunds.

Cap and Gown Photos

We know that cap and gown photos for our Pre-K students and our fifth grade students are simply priceless! We are disappointed that we weren't able to take those pictures this school year. We are working with Lifetouch on possible options to take these cap and gown photos sometime in August. More information will be provided at the end of the summer.

Kindergarten Registration

Our district is continuing to develop an online registration process for incoming kindergarteners. We appreciate your patience! As soon as the portal is up and running, the district will notify parents. We anticipate this to be very soon.

April 19, 2020 Update!

Recently the Governor announced that schools will remain closed for the remainder of the school year. We know this is a challenging time for our community.  In an effort to support our families and students during this extended school closure, our central office staff and school leaders have collaborated to develop a Continuous Learning Plan for our district. ( This plan outlines our step by step process to ensure that ALL students receive instructional support during this extended closure. This support will continue well into the 2020-2021 school year when all students and staff return safely to our schools.

Beginning April 20th - April 22nd, teachers and school administrators will be calling parents of their students, as part of our Vermilion Community Call-Out Mission. Teachers want to check in on our families and provide information regarding end of the year grades, waiving of state testing and our Supplemental Continuous Learning Guide.(  These phone calls may come to you from a “blocked number” or “No Caller ID”. We encourage you to accept our teacher's phone calls and hear about all of the wonderful support we are prepared to offer!  Please visit our district website at under our COVID-19 Information Page to view our extensive Continuous Learning Plan.
