I have three children at LeBlanc Elementary in the French Immersion program. My oldest, is in 4th grade. I have watched the progression of this program since day one. She has gained so much confidence in learning a different language. She can even understand Spanish. My second child, is in second grade. She speaks french more clearly than my first did at this age. It comes so natural for her. My youngest in the program, is in kindergarten. Her French vocabulary and understanding of the language is more widespread than the two older at that age.
This program has opened my eyes to the impact a second language can have on a child’s learning. It has given my daughters the opportunity to learn a second language and learn about a different culture. I couldn’t be more pleased with our decision in putting our children in French Immersion. -Mrs. Savant
